Our Club Welcome to Charnwood Triathlon ClubOur
aim is to welcome new and existing triathletes into the UK's fastest
growing sport through a friendly, fun and sometimes challenging club
environment. We are based in and around Charnwood and North
West
Leicestershire, and our membership ranges from complete beginners to
Ironman competitors – we cater for all ages and abilities and hope to
help all our members enjoy our sport.
Charnwood Triatlon Club is
accredited with the British Triathlon Senior Club Accreditation (STAR)
and as such demonstrates a duty of care towards it's members amongst a
high quality and efficient level of service. The club has
also
been achieved the Sport England Clubmark
accreditation, in-line with
the

We run four regular training
sessions in the Loughborough area and have recently expanded
with additional
sessions in the Ashby-de-la-Zouch and Ibstock area. We
have over fifty
members to
provide advice, support and encouragement. On top of this,
all new and potential members are able to get their first week of sessions FREE
while you try things out.

the Chair:Charnwood Triathlon Club was
formed in November 2006 as a medium to provide triathlon opportunities
within the local communities. We pride ourselves on being
open and accessible for all – all ages and abilities are welcome to
join us and participate in what is the fastest growing sport in the
UK. The club was established as an Adults club
(over 16's), with a Children's section (8 – 16 years) being developed
and launched in May 2008. Since being established,
the club has steadily grown and now boasts over fifty
members. A
dedicated committee exists to ensure our members receive the best and
most appropriate service to suit their sporting needs. Over
it's first year, the cub has set up various activities to create a
dynamic and positive atmosphere amongst the club.
The club's strong infrastructure, welcoming environment and robust
procedures has led us to achieve the huge honour of becoming the British Triathlon Federation
'Club of the Year 2007'. Below
is a list of some of the club's achievements to date- - East
Midland Triathlon Club of the Year 2007
- Achieved
STAR Accreditation in 2006 – first club in region to do so
- Organised
two successful Aquathlons. Further events planned for 2008 – see Club

- Five training sessions
in Charnwood, with three of them being coached by BTF Level 3 coach and
others having specific leaders - see Training section of
website
- Extension of club activities into North
West Leicestershire – including evening swim session and Sunday bike
ride
- Successful Grant award from Charnwood Borough
Council to support three club members to take Triathlon UKCC Level 1
coaching award
- Club survey conducted to ensure
level of service provided to members is appropriate to their needs .
- Training
weekend for members took place in October 2007 - 15 members attended
two days of training within the Peak District. Further
training weekends planned for 2008
- Regular club
socials held, to strengthen club relations and create a team ethos
amongst the members,
- Good club attendance at
local events – including four teams at the National Relays
- Some
strong individual performances from club members over the 2007
triathlon season
Aims and objectives of the club:The
aims of the club are:
- To offer coaching and competitive opportunities in
Triathlon
- To promote the club within the local
community and Triathlon
community
- To ensure a duty of care to all members of the club
- To provide all its services in a way that is fair to everyone
- To ensure that all present and future members receive fair
and equal treatment.

open for all levels of ability – whether you are a novice triathlete,
