Introduction to Triathlon Racing Wokshop - April 2010

The workshop was aimed at people now to triathlon (with basic swim, bike & run experience) who were thinking about or had already entered their first race, and also those who had done a few races and wanted to pick up some valuable tips to shave a few more seconds of their PBs!

The sessions were mainly run by the Club coaches, supported by some of our most experienced members who have represented the Club in the GB age-group team, and included:
Nutrition: the 4th triathlon discipline! Valuable advice on optimising nutrition strategies from             our guest speaker, local nutrition expert Barry Murray (www.optimumnutrition4sport.com)
Race day: finding out what to expect on race day/advice on race tactics & what to bring
Pool session: swimming in wetsuits, plus wetsuit entry & exits. Learning to tumble-turn                 > Bike-to-Run transition: an opportunity to pick up some new tips and practice

Feedback from the particpants was overwhelmingly positive, and we will be looking to run a follow-up workshop later in the year, aimed at buidling on some of the above sessions.
